What are the dates of the event?

Wednesday August 2  thru Saturday August 5th, 2017. Most race days are from 8am – 5pm, with Saturday ending around 2pm.

Are there alligators?

Alligators DO NOT like busy or noisy waterways, they migrate to quiet still water.  Lake Mineola is a very busy waterway… motor boats, jet skis, seaplanes, SUP boards, canoes, kayaks, rowers, wake boarders, and swimmers.  And, for further peace of mind, Clermont hosts many open-water swims through-out the year.

When is the banquet and where will the banquet be held?

The banquet is Saturday at 7pm at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center located at 3700 S Hwy 27, Clermont, FL 34711. Tickets must be purchased online before June 30, 2017. Click Here to Buy Tickets.

What is the dress code at the banquet?

Dress Code is casual attire. Ladies should wear a nice blouse with a skirt or pants, casual dresses, or sun dresses. Men should wear dress shorts or pants with button-down or polo-style shirts. Please refrain from wearing jeans, shorts or tank tops. Paddle clothes and swimwear is prohibited.

What day can teams begin arriving at the venue and have practice times?

Teams will be assigned a practice window beginning on Monday, July 31, 2017.

When is Athlete Check in?

Team Managers can pick up all athlete packets & store orders on Tuesday August 1st at the Highlander Building from 10am – 2pm.

When do I register for the races?

We will be using JRACEMAN for online race registration beginning June 15th and Closing on June 30th. Late entries will be accepted from July 1st – 14th, however an Extra-large fee of $100.00 will be applied to each paddler. We will make an announcement on Facebook & Twitter, send an email to head coaches, and update this website.

Where is the event?

The event is being held at Waterfront Park on Lake Minneola 101 3rd St. Clermont, FL. 34711.

Is there onsite parking and what does it cost?

There is FREE onsite parking.

Are there restroom facilities?

Yes, there will be a combination of permanent restroom facilities as well as port-o-lets available on site.

Can we have Team Tents?

Definitely, each team will be allowed space for up to 2 10×10 tents, no power is available. Gas cooking grills will be allowed.

Are dogs permitted at the venue?

Yes, well-behaved leashed dogs are permitted on site. Please clean up after your dog.

Will the entire course be in full view?

Yes, you will be able to see the entire 1000m course from the shoreline.

Is there a bike path for coaches alongside the course?

Yes there is a bike path alongside the course but it is not a straight path, it is winding.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes, private coolers and food are allowed  – NO alcoholic beverages. Cooking at team tents is permitted. We will have boxed lunches for sale each day and they must be pre-ordered online.  Click here to purchase lunch tickets. There are no concession stands at Waterfront Park.

Will I be able to rent a boat for Nationals?

Yes, there will be a limited number of canoes and kayaks for rent at this years event.  Contact Ian Mack at  Ian@sprintresources.com or visit the website at Sprint Training Resource Center for more information.

How do I find and sign waivers?

Thank you for asking!  All paddlers and volunteers must sign and submit an electronic waiver. If you are a paddler you MUST have a current ACA membership number. If you are under age 18, you’ll need to fill out the Minor waiver.

How do I register for the races?

We are using JRACEMAN for online race registrations beginning June 15th and closing June 30th. The system will accept late entries from July 1st – July 14th, however an extra-large fee will be applied to each paddler (so register on-time). We will make an announcement on Facebook & Twitter, send an email to head coaches and update this website when registration is open.

How much do the races cost?

Fees are established by USACK. Up to three races cost $75.00, four – nine races cost $150.00. Pre-registration between June 15th – June 30th is mandatory. No day of event registrations. Note: There will be an Extra-large late registration fee of $100.00 for each paddler registered between July 1st – 14th.

Where can I find race results?

The Delta Timing race system will be available just before the races. Visit the race results board that is near the finish tower. Click here to go to the race registration page. 

What are the Race Age Groups?

Age Groups 
Bantam is 13 years old or younger on Jan 1, 2017
Juvenile is 15 or younger on Jan 1, 2017
Junior is 17 or younger on Jan 1, 2017

Masters A must be 30 or more on Jan 1st 2017
Masters B must be 45 or more on Jan 1, 2017
Masters C must be 60 or more on Jan 1, 2017
The age group of a Masters Team boat is determined by the youngest paddler in it.

A Senior is anyone who does not meet the requirements of any other class. Seniors may paddle only in
senior events. Any paddler of the specified event gender can race in a Seniors event, except for bantams.

What accommodations are in the area?

There are numerous hotels, motels, condo’s, houses for rent and RV parks within 30 minutes of Lake Minneola. Click here to learn more.

What is close by?

Waterfront Park is located along Lake Minneola, between East Avenue and Eighth Street. The park has a fitness trail that is part of a 30-mile system. The park also includes picnic areas, a sandy beach swimming area, fishing piers, bike paths, a splash park and a playground.

The City of Clermont offers cafe’s, restaurants, shopping, museums, movie theaters, bowling, and horseback riding. Orlando is approximately 35 minutes away and offers even more varieties of activities, food, and entertainment.

What's the weather like in August?

The average temperature in August is 92 degrees with a low of 73 degrees. Sunscreen is highly recommended. Late afternoon rain showers don’t last long, but they are the norm. Pack a poncho or umbrella. If you’re really hot, you can jump in the lake.

What is available to keep cool?

There are a variety of ways to stay cool:
Visit the Air Conditioned Athlete Recovery Room or First Aid Station
Walk through the Splash Park
Go for a quick swim at the beach
Stay hydrated

** Ice and Water will be available too.

Will discount theme park tickets be available?

Yes, Discount Theme park tickets will be available through the Central Florida Sports Commission. Click here for information on discounted theme park tickets.

Misc

I ordered stuff online, where do I pick it up?

All online orders will be ready for pick-up by the Team Manager/Parent during Athlete Check in on Tuesday Aug 1 at the Highlander Building. Specific times will be announced as the event gets closer.

Can I put an Ad in the event program?

Yes, please do.  Visit the Sponsorship Page.  All ad’s must be submitted by May 31, 2017.

Also, remind your coach to take a team photo by May 31,2017 and send it to sprintnationals2017@gmail.com for inclusion in the program.

Can I purchase Nationals merchandise at the event?

We will have limited stock of Nationals merchandise for sale during the event. If there is something that you really want please pre-order. Click here to visit the store. The online store closes on May 31, 2017

How do I volunteer to help?

Thank you for asking! We have enlisted sign-up genius to list all of our volunteer positions.
